Stoked to be heading up to An Culturlann for a screening of Displace: The Battle for Dublin as part of Docs Ireland. I’ve wanted to travel up to it as a punter for years, but always got waylaid – so getting to see it this way is just class.

The film is competing for the Pull Focus Award for Best New Irish Feature, and is also eligible for the Ross McDonnell Award for Best Cinematography in an Irish Documentary — an award established in memory of the late filmmaker. Not bad going for a completely DIY project. There’s some savage docs being screened across the festival too.

Hyped to bring the film to Belfast and see it with a new audience. There’ll also be a conversation afterwards with local housing activists.

Hopefully there’ll be a few more festival screenings to announce over the summer. If you’re involved in any local arts festivals and are interested in screening it, do holler. More than happy as well for local activist groups to get in touch about arranging community screenings and using the film as an organising tool.
