Resume

Hi, I’m James Redmond

And this is my online portfolio.  I’m a creative digital practitioner and consultant based out of Phibsboro on Dublin’s Northside. I was a key member of staff in Dublin Community TV, mentoring dozens of community and not-for-profit groups in developing media capacity through training, documentaries and other productions. For three years I was the Communications Officer in the volunteer development NGO Comhlamh.

In 2011 I was the founding editor of rabble magazine, the much loved underground print publication that made a name for itself with a blend of scathing political satire, culture and social commentary. In 2016 rabble was voted one of the top ten “key Irish websites” by the public for the ‘Remembering 1916, Recording 2016’ web archive collection as part of a competition ran by the National Library.

I also directed the cult documentary Notes On Rave In Dublin which premiered at the Audi Dublin Film Festival in 2017.

I am capable of working in a range of voices and tones depending on the client and  stay abreast of trends across web, print and video.   Since late 2017, I have been freelancing on a “word of mouth” basis.  I thrive when working alongside scrappy, passionate little units, made up of like-minded people punching above their weight.

In my spare time I hold down a monthly radio show called Holler on Dublin Digital Radio, read and go on walks with my increasingly blind dog Scamp after which this website takes its name.
