Lankum
Lankum are a four-piece group from Dublin, Ireland with an alchemical ability to combine traditional folk roots with contemporary undercurrents to forge music that is dark, mysterious and transcendental. They’ve been attributed with redefining the landscape of Irish traditional music by bringing in elements more associated with acts operating in the world of drone like Sunn O))) or Swans.
Having very much escaped being trapped in the merry-go-round of banal Irish folk festivals, they are now represented for bookings by Qujunktions (Giant Sawn, King Midas Sound, Ossia, Shackleton, The Bug, The Ex and more…) and are becoming a breakout act for anyone that is into boundary-pushing music regardless of its genre origins. The Guardian has given their latest album a stellar five-star review and they are currently on a string of sold-out dates.
Having previously cut a gripping social media video that garnered 35k views from old assets to promote their East Coast USA Tour of January 2019, I went on to work with the band and Rough Trade on the build-up to the launch of their long-anticipated third album The Live Long Day with responsibility for a complete overhaul of their website.
